Brooke Streicher, B.A.
Brooke graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Social Work from Texas Tech University in Fall 2022. As an undergrad, she worked as a research assistant in the Prevention & Intervention Lab and Dr. Jason Van Allen’s ENERGY Lab. She is currently working as a post-baccalaureate research assistant in both the Prevention & Intervention Lab and Dr. Sean Mitchell’s Suicide Risk and Prevention Lab. Brooke ultimately plans to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
Brooke’s current research interests include the impact of adverse childhood experiences and peer victimization on the social and emotional development of youth. Her interests also involve the prevention and treatment of internalizing and externalizing problems and suicidal ideation/behavior in middle childhood.
Destiny Rojas, B.A.
Destiny graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Forensics from Texas Tech University in Spring 2024. As an undergrad, she worked as a research assistant in the Prevention & Intervention Lab. She is currently working as a post-baccalaureate research assistant in both the Prevention & Intervention Lab and Dr. Sean Mitchell’s Suicide Risk and Prevention Lab. Destiny ultimately plans to go to graduate school and pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
Destiny's current research interests include the impact of adverse childhood experiences and trauma on externalizing behaviors in children, such as physical and relational aggression. She is also interested in studying juvenile justice populations and their exposure to risk factors such as witnessed community violence.
